S'aider par le jeu Volume 1

Distributed by the Fédération québécoise du loisir en institution (FQLI), the book “S'aider par le jeu” is an essential tool for seniors' residences. This collection of new intellectual activities perfectly complements the second volume. It includes fifty-five (55) activities divided into 5 categories of cognitive skills. Most of these activities are simple to carry out and require few material resources. The activities result from a literature review and activity-leading experience with various client groups. Each activity was carefully analyzed according to the cognitive skills involved, then classified by the main skill used. These main categories are: attention and concentration, memory, logic and reasoning, language, and visuospatial organization.

Although intended mainly for seniors, this book was designed to be versatile and meet the needs of recreation staff.

All these activities can be adapted for seniors as well as for people with cognitive deficits. They also meet the needs of people living with mental health issues or physical or intellectual disabilities.
