Rediscover a great classic that brings generations together: horseshoes!

Easy to understand and fun to play, this skill game invites participants to throw the horseshoes at the target and try to score as many points as possible. It can be played indoors or outdoors and is perfect for activities in residences, LTC homes or retirement homes.

Horseshoes encourages:

With two or four players, organize a friendly game or a small tournament, and simply adapt the throwing distance to participants' abilities!

Caractéristiques

Here's how to play:

  1. Insert the peg in the centre of the rubber base and place it on the game surface.
  2. Participants stand at the same end of the game. The first player throws both horseshoes, trying to get them as close as possible to the peg at the other end.
  3. The second player then throws both horseshoes the same way.
  4. Once all four horseshoes have been thrown, count the points:
  • 5 points for a horseshoe encircling the peg
  • 3 points if the horseshoe is leaning against the peg
  • 1 point if the horseshoe is within 15 cm (6 in) of the peg

Play then resumes from the opposite end of the game surface, with players throwing their horseshoes in the other direction.

The game can be played to 25, 40 or 50 points, depending on participants' abilities.
